How to Spot If Your Rangemaster / Falcon / Mercury Oven Isn’t Sealing
A damaged oven seal wastes energy and ruins your cooking. Rangemaster ovens rely on a tight rubber or fiberglass gasket to keep heat inside the cavity. When this seal fails, your appliance has to work twice as hard to maintain the correct temperature.
Here is how to check if your Rangemaster oven seal needs replacing.
1. Visual Signs of Wear and Tear

This is the easiest way to test your Rangemaster door seal:
- 1Open the completely cool oven door.
- 2Place a piece of paper across the seal.
- 3Close the door firmly on the paper.
- 4Pull the paper gently upward.
- 5Result: If it slips out easily, your seal is gone.
- 6Repeat this test at various points around the door.
